Dallas, TX - The market for smart devices is expanding its reach with the development and promotion of the Machine-to-Machine (M2M) space. M2M Expo is the first global show focused on the M2M market, its industry leaders and the latest technology breakthroughs. While the players involved in this emerging market previously had to go to numerous tradeshows and venues within a wide variety of business sectors, the M2M Expo will be the first opportunity for these companies to come together for the sole discipline of M2M. In addition to exhibition space, four M2M subject areas will be covered with sessions on Application Opportunities, Adoption Environment, Technology Roadmap and Business Models.

M2M defines the way machines communicate, how they use data, and most importantly how the world interacts with them. The potential for this market is enormous, for unlike the finite nature of human-devices, the number of devices in the M2M world is only bound by the usefulness of the information provided.

The M2M Expo will bring together leaders in the industry including technology suppliers, adopters, OEMs, integrators, investors and customers. The M2M Expo offers attendees an opportunity to learn more about the industry as well as meet users and suppliers of the technology.

Scheduled for April 13-15, 2004 at the Adam’s Mark Hotel and Conference Center in Dallas, Texas, this event will be a defining moment of this emerging market. Co-located with BuilConn 2004, the networked buildings industry’s pre-eminent expo and conference, attendees will have the added benefit of gaining insight into the buildings marketplace, a primary adopter of M2M solutions.

According to Anto Budiardjo, Clasma, Inc. President and BuilConn organizer, “All industries need an annual venue to develop, and we are glad to have the chance to facilitate this event for the emerging M2M space at such a crucial time in its evolution.” He adds “The executive conference format of the event will bring tremendous value in education, networking and keeping up with key M2M technologies.”

Says Glen Allmendinger, Harbor Research President, “The recent increase in interest of the M2M space is very encouraging in the otherwise depressed technology sector.” He adds “An expo and conference like this is exactly what this industry needs: definition of the space, players, issues and benefits.”

Peggy Smedley, editorial director and founder of M2M magazine, says “Reactions from the initial launch of M2M magazine this past September only reinforce the excitement this space is quickly generating. In conjunction with the buzz about M2M and its emerging technologies, the sessions to be featured at the M2M Expo will certainly be greeted with the same fervor and enthusiasm.”

This information will be turned into new business values allowing us to service our customers better.” He adds “I am looking forward to the significant benefit from the evolution of this sector; an event like this will make this segment real and significant.”
