Richmond, VA  — Tridium Inc., a leading provider of software technology for device-to-enterprise applications (also known as “M2M”) and Internet-enabled products, has been awarded a patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office for key elements of its Niagara Framework technology. This patented technology represents key innovations that enable the Niagara Framework to manage the data and operation of diverse smart devices over the Internet.

Tridium’s Niagara Framework is the most specified device integration solution of its kind with over 25,000 instances installed worldwide, and has been adopted by a wide range of Fortune 500 companies. “One of the core foundations of the Framework is its ability to model data from diverse devices to create a uniform representation of different systems. The patent addresses key elements of the modeling techniques that form the foundation of Niagara”, said John Petze, President & CEO.

Tridium’s U.S. patent (#6,832,120) is titled "System & Methods for Object-Oriented Control of Diverse Electromechanical Systems Using a Computer." Tridium has additional patents pending in the United States and other countries that reflect its extensive experience in integrating diverse systems and devices into unified systems for control, monitoring, energy management and M2M applications.
