Downers Grove, IL – Managed Ethernet switches offer tremendous options and flexibility over traditional switches, but there’s still a lot of confusion surrounding this topic. Because users have so many options, we are presenting a free one-hour teleseminar called “Managed Switches and How Can They Help Me?” on March 16, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. (CST).
Topics to be covered include:
How virtual LANs can be used to help control traffic and increase security
How to give important messages higher priority using the Quality of Service (QoS) feature
Redundancy: Multiple choices available, and which ones you should consider for various applications
Advanced capabilities like IGMP (Internet Group Management Protocol) Snooping for EtherNet/IP networks and Management Information Blocks (MIBs) for diagnostics
Finally, special capabilities like port monitoring, port mirroring and port security will be explained in plain English.
After a 30-40 minute presentation, a Question and Answer session will follow. MP3’s and transcripts of the teleseminar will be made available.
Please note: Participation is limited to 100 individuals, so don’t procrastinate! There is no charge for the teleseminar. You may e-mail questions for the open discussion forum to Debra Biela at dbiela@ccontrols.com. To register and receive call-in codes, visit: www.ctrlink.com/teleseminar.htm.
