The LONMARK® Interoperability Association Adds NTT Data to the Board of Directors

SAN JOSE, CA - The LONMARK Interoperability Association is pleased to announce that NTT Data has increased its involvement and support in the LONMARK Interoperability Association by moving from the Associate to the Sponsor level. As a Sponsor member, NTT Data will sit on the LONMARK Board of Directors and play a key leadership role in facilitating the design and marketing of open, interoperable LONWORKS® products. The company joins existing Sponsors Cypress Semiconductor, Echelon Corporation, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Philips Lighting, Siemens Building Technology, ST Microelectronics, TAC, Trane, and Yokogawa.

Since August 2000, NTT Data has been an integral member of the Asia Pacific LONMARK community, working to develop the market for interoperable devices and grow the Association membership in the region. NTT Data has also served as a certification center for LONMARK interoperable devices, assisting the Association in bringing more interoperable products to the marketplace and adding the convenience of certification in native language to the Japanese manufacturers developing those products.

LONMARK® Interoperability Experiences Growth in Asia Pacific

[an error occurred while processing this directive]SAN JOSE, CA - The LONMARK Interoperability Association is pleased to announce that ongoing efforts in the marketplace for open interoperable systems and products in the Asia Pacific region have created measurable opportunity and growth. Since January of this year, Association membership in the region has grown to 68 companies with the inclusion of nine new companies to the Association's over 300 members making the region the Association's fastest growing sector with a total of 23% of the overall membership.

Recognizing the benefits of open interoperable systems and products based upon Echelon Corporation's LONWORKS®. technology has led the nine companies to take a leadership role in the marketplace by getting involved in the LONMARK Interoperability Association. The new members: KLONTECH Co., Ltd., Fuji-IT Co., Ltd., Osaki Computer Engineering CO., LTD., Hokutate Corporation, Tsuzuki Tsuushin Gijyutsu Co., Ltd., WIT JAPAN CO., LTD., TWS Electrical , Sanpo Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Corp. (SEAMEC), DAI-DAN CO., LTD., join existing Asian leaders such as Fuji Electric, NTT Data, Yokogawa, and Samsung in educating the marketplace and pioneering the use and development of interoperable devices. These new members are primarily integrators in the buildings and industrial marketplace, with expertise in all levels of system integration, project specification, and maintenance and expansion. They bring to the Association a wealth of knowledge of the industry and the ongoing needs of the marketplace. While most of the newest Asia Pacific members are from Japan, the region also counts members from Australia, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Korea, and India.

The growth in the Asia Pacific region has been a direct effect of the efforts of the Association's recently formed Asian Marketing Task Group. The group meets regularly to work together defining the direction of the Association in the region, developing educational programs, and creating materials in native language.
