KMC Products Now BTL Listed

Boston, Massachusetts - The BACnet Testing Laboratory (BTL) has informed KMC Controls that all of its current BACnet Advanced Application Controllers have become BTL Listed products. The products met the rigorous testing of BTL which verifies conformance to the BACnet communications protocol. This protocol was developed by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE Standard 135-2004) to promote interoperability in open building systems.

The BTL is an independent arm of the BACnet Manufacturers Association. According to BTL Manager, Jim Butler: “Our goal is to improve interoperability between BACnet products, and we believe that a combination of BTL lab testing, multi-vendor interoperability testing, and adherence to the BTL's device implementation guidelines will result in products that will have a high level of interoperability.”

The BTL offers testing services for various BACnet device profiles including Advanced Application Controllers. These devices are typically the backbone of a building automation network. KMC offers several models of these controllers to address the needs of general purpose, VAV, and specific applications. All 13 of these models are now BTL listed.

They can build with confidence with BTL and KMC.”

Official products listings for all BTL listed products can found on the web site of the BACnet Manufacturers Association (www.bacnetassociation.org).
