Securing Buildings News

BERKELEY, Calif. and DALLAS – To make machine-to-machine (M2M) application development easier, SensorLogic has expanded its M2M Portal™ telemetry application platform to include an interface for Dust Networks’ SmartMesh wireless sensor networks. This will allow application developers to create Web-based monitoring systems “out-of-the-box” – without having to write any custom software. Dust Networks will offer SensorLogic’s M2M Portal as an optional add-on to the SmartMesh Evaluation Kit, thus enabling application developers to build and deploy wireless sensing solutions more rapidly than ever before.

The SensorLogic M2M Portal is a telemetry data management and communications platform that makes it easy for application developers to build and brand their own remote telemetry solutions over wireline and wireless networks. The company operates as a telemetry service provider that offers a full-featured, Web-based telemetry application as a managed service. SensorLogic’s M2M Portal is a configurable application platform that can be customized easily for any vertical industry. By using SensorLogic’s pre-built telemetry functions and paying for service on a per-use basis, M2M application developers can reduce upfront investment, development time and risk.

Dust Networks’ SmartMesh is optimized for low data-rate sensor networking applications in building automation, industrial monitoring and security. Using the SmartMesh wireless networking system, businesses can reduce the cost of deploying, installing and managing a sensing and control network dramatically. SmartMesh is easy to install and highly manageable; the self-configuring network requires no site survey, no RF knowledge and no device-level management.
