Dallas, TX - December 15, 2009 - Clasma Events, Inc.
is organizing a Home-to-Grid (H2G) Summit at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES),
January 9, 2010 from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. The executive summit provides an open
forum for executives from government, utilities, and the consumer electronics
(CE) industry to discuss the impact of smart grid on CE products.
Utilities worldwide are investing heavily in the development and implementation
of smart grids - a system of systems providing bi-directional delivery of energy
and information from producers to consumers. Successful implementation of smart
grids will require a new generation of energy aware consumer products capable of
communicating with smart meters and energy gateways.
The National Institute of Standards (NIST) is developing a comprehensive list of
standards through the Smart Grid Interoperability Panel (SGIP) to support
various facets of the smart grid. It is critical for industry stakeholders to
understand the impact that industry standards will have on consumer electronics
in the Home2Grid marketplace. The purpose of this executive summit is to
establish a dialog between key industry stakeholders to discuss the impact of
industry standards, smart grid deployment and the opportunities for the CE
industry to provide consumers with smart grid ready products.
"The smart grid presents an exciting opportunity for the consumer electronics
industry to provide a new generation of consumer products that can interact with
utility smart meters and energy gateways to help consumers better manage their
energy consumption," said Anto Budiardjo, President & CEO of Clasma Events, Inc.
"Adapting to this emerging market will require industry consensus on standards
that can enable the proliferation of smart, communicating products. The
Home-to-Grid Summit provides an ideal opportunity for industry stakeholders to
learn about industry standards and market development," continued Budiardjo.
