All-new control hardware and Web Services software interface make Automated Logic's WebCTRL system faster, friendlier, and more open than ever
Automated Logic announces the release of its latest version of WebCTRL, the company's web-based building control technology. New for this year are a new generation of control hardware with dramatically improved speed and memory, a Web Services interface utilizing SOAP/XML technology for cross-platform data sharing with other computer systems, and an improved multi-lingual operator interface.
The new hardware features faster connectivity, unrivaled processing power, and greater flexibility. The ME line of multi-equipment controllers offers a 100 mps Ethernet connectivity option and has a high-speed 32-bit RISC microprocessor with cache memory. It also has 16 MByte battery-backed SDRAM and 8 MByte Flash memory for easy field upgrades over the network. The SE line of single equipment controllers and ZN line of zone controllers are fully programmable and use a high-speed 16-bit microprocessor with 512 KByte RAM and 1 MByte Flash memory. All control hardware is native BACnet, with the option to use either ARCNET or MS/TP communications media. The ME line also supports BACnet/IP communications.
The new user interface features interactive logic pages, enhanced support for legacy systems, new reports and manual commands for fast access to system data, and great enhancements to the overall speed of WebCTRL. Other releases since February 2002 included a multi-lingual operator interface, a spreadsheet-based report generator and full legacy support, allowing users who purchased ALC systems as far back as 1985 to step up to WebCTRL without replacing their field hardware.
