Distech Controls Ranks 433rd amongst the Fastest Growing Technology Companies in North America and receives the coveted Deloitte Technology Green 15™ Award on the 2009 Deloitte Ranking.

Brossard, Quebec, November 23rd, 2009 — Distech Controls, a leading provider of building automation and energy management solutions, announced today that it ranked number 433 on Deloitte’s 2009 Technology Fast 500. Technology Fast 500 is a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences companies in North America. Rankings are based on percentage of fiscal year revenue growth over five years (2004-2008), period during which Distech Controls grew 263 percent.

“With its impressive five-year growth, Distech Controls has earned its position among the fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and clean technology companies in North America,” said John Ruffolo, National Leader, Technology, Media & Telecommunications Industry Group, Deloitte. “Deloitte is proud to honor Distech Controls for its achievement.”

In addition, Distech Controls obtained the prestigious Deloitte Technology Green 15, an award created to showcase 15 Canadian companies that are leading the way to create major breakthroughs in the field of green technology.

“The Deloitte Technology Green 15 Award recognizes those Canadian companies that offer solutions to global environmental challenges by creating intellectual property and technology that reduce society’s environmental impact,” added John Ruffolo, National Leader, Technology, Media & Telecommunications Industry Group, Deloitte. “Companies such as Distech Controls are creating technology solutions that have a significant environmental impact and demonstrate a compelling return on investment, despite being in a recession. In doing so, they are helping position Canada as a global leader in the development of commercially-viable green technology.”

Etienne Veilleux, President and CEO of Distech Controls accepted the awards and said “Through the strength of our global partner network, we are reaching customers with our technology and innovation, reshaping their thinking of investment in green technologies. Today Distech Controls stands proud to receive these recognitions on behalf of our partners and customers.”

Fast 500 Selection and Qualifying Criteria

The Technology Fast 500 award program ranks the fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and clean technology companies in North America. It is compiled from nominations submitted directly to the Technology Fast 500 website, and public company database research conducted by Deloitte. Deloitte’s 2009 Technology Fast 500 award winners are selected based on percentage fiscal year revenue growth during the five year period from 2004 to 2008.

[an error occurred while processing this directive] In order to be eligible for Technology Fast 500 recognition, companies must own proprietary intellectual property or proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues.
