Overview of LonWorld 2005 |
Tatiana Kvitka, Echelon Corporation |
As Q3 of 2005 came to an end, it’s time to share the highlights of LonWorld® 2005, the biggest international event for the LonWorks® industry. The event took place at Euro Disney, located in the suburbs of Paris, in France. With the conference facilities being about an hour away from Paris, and in Disneyland, there were some concerns regarding the event’s attendance, which proved to be wrong. All the people I talked to were very excited about how the event turned out and the quality of prospects it brought. There were some very exciting developments, which I am happy to share with you.

Echelon at the show:
With NES smart metering system showcased in the booth for the first time and
with a number of new products released on the heels of Pyxos™ embedded control
networking platform introduction, Echelon was positioned for a great success at
the show. All the announcements leading to the show generated so much interest,
that our booth was the busiest throughout the whole event. We have collected a
great number of leads, which promise to develop into excellent business
opportunities. The product demos, the presentations in the theater, the meetings
with customers were geared at delivering one message: Echelon’s technology and
products enable ubiquitous control networking now.
Key demonstrations and products at LonWorld 2005 included:
The Conference portion of the event was kicked off by a great keynote about energy management being a key driver for controls, delivered by Ken Oshman. Throughout the two-day conference attendees were able to attend talks delivered on over 40 topics including intelligent buildings, intelligent street lighting, home automation, elevators, metering and power management, water treatment, and transportation solutions. You can find the complete conference agenda on http://www.lonworldexpo.com/conference/ConferenceOverview.htm.
