The second New Deal Cybersecurity Summit is being held at the AHR Expo 2020 in Orlando, FL on Feb/4 will discuss and map out the future of cybersecurity in the BAS industry around the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.

Below are abstracts and links to a series of articles authored by speakers from the Summit, describing the relevance of the NIST Framework to how BAS industry players should prepare themselves for fully securing building automation systems.

In the outline article, NIST Cybersecurity Framework and BAS, Anto Budiardjo, organizer and moderator of the New Deal Cybersecurity Summit at AHR Expo describes the importance of the NIST Framework for building automation systems.

The NIST Framework will be discussed at the opening session of the Cybersecurity Summit at 8:00 am on Tuesday Feb/4.

In his article, Understanding NIST's Identify Function, Steve Fey, CEO of Totem Buildings discusses the need to identify the components within a building automation systems in order to secure it.

The importance of the identify function will be discussed in the first session starting at 9:00 am at the Summit at the AHR Expo on Feb/4 in Orlando.

In his article, Protecting BAS from Cybersecurity Threats, Jim Butler, CTO of Cimetrics, Inc. outlines the role of BACnet/SC as well as the need to protect BAS networks from other dangers.

The issues related to protecting BAS networks will be the topic of the Cybersecurity Summit starting at 9:30 am on Tuesday Feb/4.

In his article, Detection: Yes, Trees and Groundhogs Do Make Sounds, Dave Bohlman, VP Technology of KMC Controls discusses the issues to detect breached in BAS networks.

The topic of detecting cyber breaches in building automation systems will be discussed starting at 10:30 am at the Cybersecurity Summit at AHR Expo on Feb/4.
