Hard to believe, but we’re less than three months out from Engineered Systems' fall Green Intelligent Buildings conference (http://www.bnpevents.com/ES/BACS/).
We’re headed to Santa Clara, CA on September 29-30
this time, and the festivities will kick off with our keynote speaker, Phil
Williams of Webcor Builders (San Mateo). Williams will share his perspective on
the sustainability movement in the context of our national history, comparing
and contrasting current efforts with the environmentalism of the 1960s, ’70s,
and ’80s. Then, Phil will propose a vision of the future with the challenges,
opportunities, potential synergies, and responsibilities required to realize
significant advancement for sustainable and energy.
After morning sessions in our usual two-track format (Education or
Commercial/Corporate Office), we’ll feature another speaker, Kevin Powell of the
U.S General Services Administration (GSA). It’s hard to think of a better time
for some input from the GSA, the largest landlord in the country.
As our program summary explains, “the U.S. General Services Administration is
committed to incorporating principles of sustainable design and energy
efficiency into all of its building projects. Amidst efforts to renew
infrastructure and revitalize federal public buildings as part of the American
Reinvestment and Recovery Act, GSA also established a vision and plan for Smart
Buildings. Kevin Powell, Director of Research for GSA's Public Building Service,
will share this vision for incorporating intelligence in energy efficient and
sustainable government buildings.”
The traditional networking and other up-to-the-minute info in the packed 1.5-day
agenda team up with this pair of speakers to again make it an event worth the
trip, sponsored by Lumisys, Tridium, and E-Mon (and with AutomatedBuildings.com
as an endorser). Visit the conference homepage

advantage of the earlybird discount’s $100 savings.
