Sinclair: What do you think will be most valuable to attendees?
ES Magazine: We will provide you with the latest Green Intelligent Building information! Attendees will leave Baltimore with a handbook and CD of Conference Proceedings that will include all speaker presentations and information that suppliers have provided about their products. Sponsors will also present tabletop displays during the networking reception following the end of Day 1 where attendees can visit and learn more about what leading suppliers are presently offering. The networking and face-to- face time with colleagues and professionals will be invaluable.
This conference will give attendees the opportunity to:
Learn how the recently enacted Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 will impact buildings, building systems technologies, and energy efficiency.
Understand how enterprise-wide applications facilitate assessment and benchmarking of building performance, and help to identify improvement opportunities across a portfolio of buildings.
See how lighting control and day lighting serve as critical applications for saving energy, achieving sustainability, and improving occupant comfort.
Hear from nationally recognized experts as they provide detailed information about the technologies, benefits, and challenges of Intelligent Building projects, and how they deliver on sustainability.
Sinclair: What is new about GIB?
ES Magazine: Well, for starters, the name. The Green Intelligent Buildings Conference takes the place of its predecessor, the Building Automation Conference. This conference generally revolves around a theme of building automation and controls with an emphasis on intelligent buildings. And, intelligent buildings are a key to delivering on sustainability and green buildings. With that in mind, the conference places greater focus on the correlation between intelligent buildings and green buildings, both in name and in content.
[an error occurred while processing this directive] Sinclair: What companies or organizations are showing an interest in GIB?
ES Magazine: There are many companies and organizations that have become a big part of our planning and why shouldn’t they be? This is going to be a time when the industry will be under one roof for two days. LONMARK International and CABA are Co-Hosts and BOMI & USGBC are supporters.
