SinclairCan you tell us what has been happening in the Haystack community since the Haystack Connect 2017 event in May?

Petze:  There has been a tremendous amount of activity by the community that has made 2017 a highly successful year for Project-Haystack. Here’s a quick summary of some highlights:

June 2017 – Right after the Haystack Connect event, the webmasters implemented a new system to better manage the activity of working groups. And, we saw the formation of eight new working groups since that time focusing on systems and applications including:

•    Data Center Tag Working Group
•    Lab/Fume Hood Working group
•    Flow Modeling working group
•    Access Security Working Group
•    Refrigeration Systems Working Group
•    Unitary Equipment Working Group
•    Chiller Plant Enhancements Working Group

In October - Project Haystack will be the subject of the official conference opening session at Projekt BMS, October 18-19, in Warsaw Poland. Projekt BMS sets out to create a flagship, annual event for suppliers and recipients of Building Management Systems, Smart Building Systems, Building Automation Technology. As Executive Director of Project-Haystack.org, I will be speaking and introducing the attendees to the concepts of data modeling for device data and Project-Haystack technology. We are seeing the European market increasing the adoption of Project Haystack, which will also be the subject of presentations at other conference events in France and elsewhere this fall.

Control Solutions, Inc Project Haystack is also a sponsor and will be represented at the Lynxspring Exchange & Technology Showcase, October 1-3 at The Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort at Gainey Ranch. (See this month's article.)

Haystack Connections magazine. This fall will also see the publication of the third issue of Haystack Connections magazine. This issue will be the first to include advertisements from companies that provide complementary products and services to reach the growing and dynamic Haystack Community.

The magazine has matured as the industry has come to understand the mission of the Project-Haystack.org community and the importance of making it easy to work with the data produced by smart, connected devices and equipment systems. As sponsors and attendees of the recent Haystack Connect event can attest, this community is at the very forefront of applying advanced technology solutions for intelligent buildings and the IoT. Check the project-haystack.org website for details.

As you can see the momentum and adoption continue to build for Project-Haystack.org.
