IRVING, TEXAS—i&i limited, specialists in identifying the opportunities and benefits of fully integrating information systems into the design, construction and management of buildings, will report their findings from the first published study on the potential market for Building-IT Convergence at BuilConn Europe, 8-10 November, at the Amsterdam RAI, Clasma Events Inc. announced.

The study by i&i – Proplan evaluates the technical and commercial potential for delivering holistic solutions in buildings through IT-Convergence. Through 20 years of charting the performance of intelligent controls in buildings, i&i calls attention to the relatively slow adoption of full building integration despite its innate benefits and the wide availability of enabling technologies over the past five years. With such evidence, i&i challenges the perception that IT convergence and therefore integration with the IT Business Enterprise is inevitable and in such a short time frame.

The study seeks to answer this challenge by analyzing the commercial and technical benefits that IT convergence can deliver to building owners and operators, measuring the market penetration to date, evaluating the future potential and the demand drivers that will convince buyers to invest in this new technology.

“We are excited to share our results with the intelligent buildings community at BuilConn,” Allan McHale, Director, i&i limited, said. “Much work has been put into this study and the industry will find considerable value and insight into the future direction of smart buildings.”

“As BuilConn is considered the premier event for Building-IT Convergence, we are honored to have i&i present their findings from this landmark study,” Anto Budiardjo, BuilConn organizer, said. “Their keen observance of the intelligent buildings industry over the past few decades provides them a unique perspective that BuilConn attendees will greatly benefit from hearing.”
