Just do itOn our journey to Automating Intelligence for our Buildings we are constantly asked how can I learn more about "IT"  the Internet of Things that is disrupting us?

My young mentors and I have been pushing back and forth this question of "How did you get so smart?"

The answer is common. the Nike approach "Just Do It" and learn what you need to know..  good advice.

Reading our online magazine is a start but only you know what you need to know.

Please send us links to your favourite resources.

We cannot teach you but we can provide links to resources that may help you. It is an interesting observation, you can not do what we do if you are not autodidactic?

So this is collection of links to get you started on your journey.

Automated Intelligence with Autonomous Interactions for large buildings.

I recommend you look closely at the young folks around you to help you grow younger.  Help them to gather their thoughts and share them in a meaningful way with you and the industry at large. Our future depends on it.  No young people around you?  Now that is a problem in today's rapid digital transformations.

Please meet our Young Contributing Editors. They are a amazing resource of today's disruption and journey to open I have just added recomended books to read to some of their resource profiles.

Contemporary Controls strongly believes in educating the industry about networking technology. Our print resources are organized by technology. Use the technology topics on the left to browse our learning center. Visit our Video Library for additional resources.

“The proliferation of digital Ethernet / IP connected HVACR control devices has advanced as they are becoming more powerful and require faster, higher bandwidth network connections. If you are looking to expand your knowledge on industrial Ethernet networks, visit our free educational website and step through the course at Industrial Ethernet University. We suggest that every student or instructor get their free IEU degree today! IEU was created to educate the public on the benefits of deploying Industrial Ethernet in a variety of solutions for applications. The material is vendor-neutral and provided free of charge. Learn the basics of Industrial Ethernet from the physical and data link layers up through the network, transport and application layers.”

More on IoT

Pick a course based on what you really want to learn. Many offer certificates if you want it as validation for a job.

1. Junaid Ahmed has a good IoT Course on Udemy  "Build IoT from Scratch to Market" which is pretty comprehensive and you'll end up building 3 IoT products. And you'll get a certificate at the end. I would recommend this if you want to learn to build IoT. It costs $17.99

On Coursera you can audit a course  online for free or signup to get a certificate at $35 or 50 max. These are some courses on Coursera covering different aspects of IoT

2.  IBM has a course "Developers Guide to the Internet of Things (IoT) " teaching IBM Watson
3. University of California, Irvine has a course "An Introduction to Programming for the Internet of Things."
4. University of Colorado, Boulder has a course on Industrial IoT Markets and Security.
5. Phong University has a course on Programming with Cloud IoT Platforms.

6. EdX has many courses at $99 with certificate from different global universities. These are on EdX related to IoT.
Microsoft has many Io courses teaching their own tech, one on IoT Analysis might be brand agnostic. Curtin University has  6 courses as a micromasters program.

If your goal is purely job oriented, several companies offer certificates on IoT tools from them. Cisco has an IoT Certificate here.
