Education Sessions AHR Expo Las Vegas
www.AutomatedBuildings.com 18th year of Free Education Sessions
Overall theme of all sessions; Productivity the Power of People
We have provided a link to resources, after each speakers name, to provide insight and an idea of the depth and direction of these Industry Thought Leaders.
The education
sessions were extremely well attended. In fact the first session over
filled the room and several folks were turned away. We have added a
link to the PDF of each power point for each session listed below. The
last session did not use power points. In this session each speaker
provided a five minute overview, this was captured on video by
ControlTrends. We will link to the video when available. We used the
power
points as wallpaper only. They do not have any actual content of what
was talked about, but insight can be achieved by reading the linked article of each of the presenters plus my last year of editorials listed below contains most of what was discussed. Sedona Framework - Opportunity for Open Control has more detailed information in the power points.

PDF of Power Point presentation
Mon. January 30| 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM | N239
The future of the building automation market is exceptional. Advanced
automation will not be just some accommodation with building
information technology. It will be a full embrace of IT. Systems will
be smarter, innovative, and sophisticated. They will automatically
configure and integrate new equipment so they can optimize themselves,
self-manage and self-heal. This session will provide insight into what
the future holds for the building automation market.

Sedona Framework - Opportunity for Open Control
Mon. January 30| 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM | N239
Sedona Framework is an open control technology designed to assist
system integrators in quickly implementing IP-based building automation
programs. Using a drag-and-drop programming methodology, components are
interconnected onto a wire sheet and configured to create
applications. Originally developed by Tridium, the technology is
now championed by a dedicated Sedona community of developers and
integrators striving to make Sedona an open control language free of
licenses and available to all. This session provides a quick
introduction to the Sedona language; an overview of the free
programming tool; experiences from a systems integrator implementing
common HVAC applications; and plans for a Sedona Alliance. Moderator;

Analytics and Data: Are We Focusing on the Most Important Thing - Productivity?
PDF of Power Point presentation
Mon. January 30| 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM | N239
Productivity as the new measured variable requires a considerable
change in thinking and attitudes towards maintaining buildings and
assets, including the budgets to support it, and the resources to
execute it. The impact on the total value of productivity of the people
present plus sharing the space via hoteling of our building environment
that drives a completely new metric will be discussed.

The Power of People an Industry Discussion
[an error occurred while processing this directive]Tue. January 31| 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM | N239
Industry thought leaders in this panel discussion will provide their
views on productivity, occupant engagement, and comfort. If we only
consider energy as the justification then we are missing the bigger
issue – the impact on the building environment and ultimately people.
Please join us and share your views at our fifth annual Connection Community Collaboratory.
